MICHAEL SINCLAIR -
Guitar, Piano, & Voice Instructor
Michael’s love of music comes from a family full of musical talent. Being surrounded by music since birth instilled a natural understanding of the subject and laid a foundation that would guide Michael into his musical future. Michael was first recognized as having a musical talent at age eight when he was selected for the Appleton Boys’ Choir. As a part of this group, Michael was able to travel and perform in many prestigious music halls around the globe, notably, the Rudolfinum Music Auditorium in Prague, Czech Republic.
Michael continued to expand musically when he began playing the guitar at age twelve. Inspired by several of his peers, Michael wanted to dedicate his energy toward the world of music. From middle school to high school, Michael’s main focus became his Barbershop Quartet where Michael honed his musical ear and gained a solid understanding of harmony and melody.
Post secondary school, Michael pursued further collaborative efforts with other musicians where he continued to learn from others and share his growing knowledge of music. The satisfaction Michael felt from working with others built a desire to become a musical educator. Michael enrolled in Colorado Contemporary Music College in Fort Collins, CO in 2005 where he studied piano, guitar, drums, voice and advanced theory, as well as sound reinforcement, to broaden his musical horizon. After graduating with a certificate in performance and education, Michael began instructing guitar at a private music academy; conducting group, private individual lessons, and performance classes. Michael’s drive to excel led him to enroll in the elite Music Education Program at University of Northern Colorado - Greeley. Here, Michael studied further into musical theory, aural skills, vocal pedagogy, instrument and music technology, and advanced vocal training.
It is Michael’s deep-seated passion for music that led him to become part of the Sera Schools team. Michael hopes to inspire the same passion in all of his students.
