General Registration


Payment Conditions/Terms

Effective June 1, 2010

1) All conditions and terms below are subject to amendment without notice.

2) Sera Schools Music Programs (SS) registration may be completed online at www.seraschools.com or by contacting Registration & Student Services at 970-343-0819 or 866-6111-7558.

3) Students may not attend any SS instruction until registration has been completed and payment has been processed.

4) All monetary transactions, including payment for materials fees, are processed by SS and must be made through Registration & Student Services. Students may not give any payment to instructors.  

5) Please note that upon entering your billing information (credit card or bank checking or savings account information) on your Sera Schools account, your initial payment will be deducted once your information is entered and then remaining account balances will be automatically deducted on the 1st of each month beginning with your first month, which will include your semester registration fee

6) SS reserves the right to refuse registration.

7) SS does not accept post-dated checks

8) SS reserves the right to withdraw any registration where tuition is owed from a previous registration.

9) The Registration fee, if applicable, is non-refundable.

10) Program fees are non-refundable.

11) Overdue student accounts will accrue an interest charge of 10% monthly.

12) Declined/NSF checks and Pre-Authorized Debits are subject to a $20 service charge.

13) All requests to change or withdraw from a registration must be submitted by email directly to Registration Coordinator prior to the initial lesson. Informing an instructor of a decision to withdraw does not constitute withdrawal or official notification of withdrawal, regardless of instructor feedback.

14) A $10 processing charge may be levied against all approved transfer requests.

15) A $25 processing charge may be levied against all approved withdrawal requests.

16) All credits on student accounts expire 18 months after the date of issue. SS is not obligated to provide notification of credits about to expire.

17) Credit notes are non-refundable.

18) SS reserves the right to photograph, videotape, and record all group instruction, private lessons and performances and use the pictures/sounds for marketing/publicity/educational purposes. Should you not wish that you or your child be photographed, or sound clips of you or your child be used in this way, please inform the Registration Coordinator in writing at the time of registration. Students/parents are not permitted to photograph or videotape group instruction or private lessons.

19) Online registrations with a total balance owing of $1000 or greater may qualify for an online monthly payment plan.

20) In-person registrations with a total balance owing of $500 or greater may qualify for a monthly payment plan by Pre-Authorized Debit.

21) In the case of an overdue or declined monthly payment the student’s instructor will be given notice to cease instruction and disallow attendance immediately. Instruction missed by the student as a result of an overdue account cannot be made up under any circumstances.

22) Students who choose the monthly payment option nevertheless commit to pay the total amount owing for the registration regardless of cancellation or withdrawal from group instruction or private lessons.

23) All schedules, locations, instructors and tuitions are subject to change without notice.

24) Registration fees are non-refundable.

25) Students are liable for payment of the entire Semester for which they enroll regardless of attendance and completion of the corresponding semester.

26) All lesson dates follow the corresponding school’s calendar where they are held.

 


Group Classes Conditions/Terms

1) SS reserves the right to cancel or combine sections of group classes due to insufficient enrollment. In the case of a group class cancellation tuition will be refunded to the student as applicable.

2) If SS cancels a session of a class and cannot schedule a make-up date, students will receive a Cancelled Class Credit on their file, which may be applied to a future registration. The Cancelled Class Credit has no cash value, but is transferable from student to student.

3) Requests for transfers between sections of group classes for group classes of 10 or more sessions must submitted in writing to Registration

& Student Services at least one business day prior to the second scheduled session of the group class.

4) Requests for transfers between sections of group classes for group classes of 9 or less sessions must submitted in writing to Registration & Student Services at least one week day prior to the start of the class.

5) Late registrations for group classes will be accepted up until one business day prior to the third session of the group class, subject to the

approval of Registration Coordinator and will be subject to the full tuition. Late registration for private lessons is accepted at any point in the semester.

6) Group classes missed by the student cannot be made up.

7) Students who wish to withdraw from a group class of 10 or more sessions must submit a written request to Registration & Student Services at least one business day prior to the second scheduled session of the group class to be eligible for a maximum 75% refund of paid tuition as applicable. As of the second scheduled session of a group class, no refunds, credits or withdrawals will be allowed.

8) Students who wish to withdraw from a group class of 9 or less sessions must submit a written request to Registration & Student Services at least one week prior to the first scheduled session of the group class to be eligible for a maximum 75% refund of paid tuition as applicable. After this point no refunds, credits or withdrawals will be allowed.

9) Exceptional requests (e.g. prolonged illness, jury duty) will be reviewed if appropriate documentation is provided.

 


Private Instruction Registration Conditions/Terms

1) Students are expected to attend private lessons at a regularly recurring day/time listed during registration.

2) Occasional lesson registrants (students registering on a partial term basis) are required to pay the applicable tuition in full with each registration. Occasional lesson registrations are non-refundable.

3) Instructors are not required to make up private lessons missed in full or in part by the student. Out of courtesy, please provide the instructor with a minimum 24 hours notice of a student absence.

4) If a student intends to observe religious holidays that will result in missed private lessons, the instructor must be informed prior to registration and alternative scheduling will be accommodated.

5) Private lessons missed due to an instructor’s absence/cancellation or an SS closure will be made up permitting space availability, otherwise a credit will be issued.

6) Students who wish to withdraw from private classes must submit a written request for withdrawal to Registration & Student Services at least one business day prior to their second scheduled private lesson and will be charged for the private lessons scheduled to the date of withdrawal plus two, regardless of attendance. As of the second scheduled private lesson no refunds, credits or withdrawals will be allowed.

7) Exceptional requests (e.g. prolonged illness, jury duty) will be reviewed if appropriate documentation is provided. 

 


In-Home Tutoring Registration Conditions/Terms

1) Lessons not attended or cancelled by the student shall be charged at the full rate. Students are expected to attend private in-home lessons at a regularly recurring day/time listed during registration.

2) Occasional lesson registrants (students registering on a partial term basis) are required to pay the applicable tuition in full with each registration. Occasional lesson registrations are non-refundable.

3) Instructors are not required to make up private lessons missed in full or in part by the student. Out of courtesy, please provide the instructor with a minimum 24 hours notice of a student absence.

4) If a student intends to observe religious holidays that will result in missed private lessons, the instructor must be informed prior to registration and alternative scheduling will be accommodated.

5) Private lessons missed due to an instructor’s absence/cancellation or a SS closure will be made up permitting scheduling availability, otherwise a credit will be issued. Fees are calculated according to the times stipulated in the schedule and no adjustment shall be made for time lost because of late arrival by the Student. Any lost time because of the late arrival of the Tutor shall be compensated for by extending a lesson by mutual agreement as to the day/time, and by such amount of time that was lost. If the instructor is ill, or needs to miss a lesson, Sera Schools will arrange a substitute instructor to continue your lesson as regularly scheduled and charges will be applied.

6) Students who wish to withdraw from private in-home class must submit a written request for withdrawal to Registration Coordinator at least one business day prior to their second scheduled private lesson and will be charged for the private lessons scheduled to the date of withdrawal plus two, regardless of attendance. As of the second scheduled private lesson no refunds, credits or withdrawals will be allowed.

7) In-home tutoring sessions run according to the calendar of the school of primary attendance.  When school is not in session, you won’t have a lesson and your account will not be charged.

8) Parent/caregiver must be present when instructors are teaching within a student's home.

 


Early Childhood Registration Condition/Terms

1) Two make-ups per 10-week session are allowed but must be used in the current session only.

Please call Sera Schools 24 hours in advance of your scheduled class to arrange a make-up session.

2) Admission to make-up classes is subject to space availability and is not guaranteed.

3) Missed classes that cannot be made up by the end of the quarter are not refunded, and there is no pro-rating of group classes for absences that are known in advance.

4) During Little Sera's registration period, you must pay the tuition in full to reserve your spot in a class.

5) The first class serves as your trial class. If you do not wish to continue, we will give you a full refund (minus the trial class) if you let us know at least two days before the second class meeting.

6) No refunds or transfers of credit are possible otherwise.
