Our Founder
In only 5 years, Sera Schools has set in motion programs and curriculum which offer far-reaching changes in the norms of music education through our semi-private lesson format and our Little Sera's (Little Mozart's) curriculum which gives children the ultimate head start in learning and critical thinking.
Backed by scientific research which shows the vital importance of music and the arts in developing the brain, we resolved to find new ways to infuse music and arts into the fabric of every young person's life. The result was a ground-breaking program called Little Seras that assists children in the formation of synapsis in the brain, while when stimulated will increase a child's aptitude for music. Teachers and students in Sera Schools Music Programs use the arts in a systematic way to explore, construct, test and apply new knowledge across the curriculum.
In the past year, we have also become a local leader in preparing teachers at Colorado Mesa University to advance their knowledge of semi-private lessons in order to offer the best possible instruction and development of pre-school aged and K-5th grade children through music. Today, Sera Schools is the only music based education program in the Central Rockies and Western Slope to offer Music Therapy in the teaching of early childhood music education.
More recently, we have worked to create positive relationships with local music competitions such as the Grand Junction Music Teachers Association, Sonatina Festival, and the Festival for Creative Artists, which we feel we give Sera Schools students additional opportunities to learn and expand their intelligence and creativity through friendly competition and comradarie with their peers.
Over the past year, we continued to benefit from the contributions of our supportive parents, our Scholarship Board, our Management Team and Employees. Their enthusiasm and hard work has made this a tremendous year of progress for Sera Schools.
We are immensely grateful to our supporters for helping us to move forward to create a society in which the arts are embraced by all citizens as catalysts for achievement, pathways to self-exploration and bridges to mutual understanding.
Please feel free to contact us with any feedback on how we can serve you better.
