SS's Vocal Blue Ribbons must successfully demonstrate:
- Respiration (breath for agility)
- Phonation (vibrato/straight)
- Resonant tone production (work for consistent quality from high voice through mixed and into low)
- Expression (explore rapid dynamic shifts--subito & sforzando; explore 'terraced' dynamics, dynamic phrasing)
- PST, Part 2: Arpeggios as assigned (#45-49)
- PST, Part 2: Ornamentation as assigned (#50-63): Acciaccatura, The Double Acciaccatura, The Inverted Mordent, The Trill
- Diction (Introduction of full IPA, Italian diction rules)
- English and Latin/Spanish/Italian repertoire as assigned (at least one selection from Baroque to Classical eras which demonstrates sequence and allows for vocal ornamentation; ex. selections from 26 Italian Songs and Arias)
- Naming Major sharp keys
- Order of notes & rests
- Italian terms
